Ind vs Sl: The BCCI has made some changes to the 5th and final T20 match between India and Sri Lanka, and Indian opener Smriti Mandhana is not playing. Due to this change, fans are eager to know why Smriti isn’t playing despite her good performance, but the answer is quite simple: Smriti is being rested, and a young player is being given a chance since India has already won the series.

Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur confirmed during the toss that both Renuka Singh and Smriti Mandhana have been rested for the final match to give opportunities to new players. Since Team India has already secured the series, the management wants to give a chance to young players.

Harmanpreet Kaur said: “We’re okay to bat first and we want to win this match as well as it’s an important match(Ind vs Sl). We want to win the way we started. Hopefully, we’ll continue the same momentum and give our best. She also said, we’ve two changes as Renuka and Smriti are resting while G Kamilini making her debut and Sneh Rana is back.”

Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu said her team learned a lot from the series against India. She said: “We have decided to bowl first today. We played some good cricket in the last game, and that has given the team a lot of confidence, so we want to try and replicate that performance. This tournament has been a huge learning curve for us; playing against a world-class team like India, the World Champions, teaches you something in every game.”

India Women Playing XI:

Shafali Verma, G Kamalini, Richa Ghosh (wk), Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Harleen Deol, Deepti Sharma, Amanjot Kaur, Sneh Rana, Arundhati Reddy, Vaishnavi Sharma, Shree Charani

Sri Lanka Women Playing XI:

Hasini Perera, Chamari Athapaththu (c), Imesha Dulani, Harshitha Samarawickrama, Kavisha Dilhari, Nilakshika Silva, Rashmika Sewwandi, Kaushani Nuthyangana (wk), Nimasha Madushani, Inoka Ranaweera, Malki Madara

In this final match (Ind vs Sl), all eyes will be on whether the Indian team can maintain its dominance and complete a 5-0 series whitewash, or if the Sri Lankan team, led by Chamari Athapaththu, can stage a comeback and halt India’s winning streak. The decision to rest experienced players and give a chance to young talent like G Kamalini shows that Team India is looking towards the future. A thrilling contest is expected on this pitch in Thiruvananthapuram, where India will be aiming to end their home series with a resounding victory.
